Call of Duty Black Ops 4: Zombies - Tag der Toten (Ship - Diner and Bridge)

The diner and bridge areas of the crashed ship in Tag der Toten. We wanted to create a ship that had all its functional lighting, but still kept things creepy. We also kept a cooler-toned lighting palette, to contrast with the warm sunrise outside.

I was responsible for lighting, reflection probe setup, tuning atmospheric and exposure settings, conveying the mood and story of the scene, and creating multiple lighting states for in game events. I communicated with concept, design, and environment teams to ensure the gameplay and narrative were being supported by lighting. I coordinated with the FX team to make sure exposure settings and atmospherics were supporting effects, and worked with tech art to help optimize the level while still reaching our visual target.

Booths were also kept lit to help players find important objects hidden in them, but I kept the pools of light tight within the boots to add to the isolating feeling.

The ship bridge was brightly lit so players could easily find the power switch.
